Start and Exit the Program

After DriverSmith is installed correctly you can run the program and begin. When the program is launched the Main window is displayed. After starting the program you can minimize the Main window and have the program running in the background.

Starting DriverSmith

You can start DriverSmith from the Start menu.

To start the program do one of the following:

Click Start and select All Programs | DriverSmith | DriverSmith | DriverSmith DriverSmith.

When you launch DriverSmith an icon appears in the system tray of the taskbar. This icon provides several functions that you can access from the pop-up menu. See System Tray Icon Options for more information.

Minimize to the System Tray

You can minimize the program so the Main window no longer appears but the application remains running in the background. In this instance the icon remains displayed in the system tray. Click the button located at the top-right of the Main window.

To minimize the Main window:

Click the button located at the top-right of the Main window.

You can also choose to have the Main window minimized every time you click the "X" button without the Exit actions dialog appearing.

To re-open the Main window, do one of the following:

To exit the program from the DriverSmith system tray icon:

Right-click the icon in the system tray and select Exit.
